CJ Blythe hit a great ball. Manchester's Caleb Thorne got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caleb Thorne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trey Trunks was extremely unlucky when he, in the 10th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to Hastings getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jonny Shaw hit a great ball. Alfred Prutton, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Manchester's Nat Guest proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Manchester from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester's goalkeeper Nat Guest, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Dean Newby came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Manchester fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Newby couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Caleb Thorne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ralph Tinker was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Hastings's Ralph Tinker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caleb Thorne in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricky Fordham to make the kick off. Manchester's Caleb Thorne got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rio McAleer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Ralph Tinker skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester's goalkeeper Nat Guest, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rio McAleer got free with Ralph Tinker in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ralph Tinker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caleb Thorne in the 67th minute of play. Ralph Tinker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caleb Thorne's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Rio McAleer struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Ralph Tinker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester. In the 72nd minute, Hastings's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Caleb Thorne fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rio McAleer got free with Ralph Tinker in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trey Trunks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Nat Guest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Manchester's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Fordham came free, but Nat Guest reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Hastings's Ricky Fordham sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nat Guest narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Caleb Thorne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ralph Tinker having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Caleb Thorne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester's supporters rose to their feet, but Caleb Thorne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ralph Tinker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 94 minutes, Stu Garlick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stu Garlick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Hastings's goal looked a bit too open when Caleb Thorne came free, but Ralph Tinker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hastings were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Manchester for a fine match.
