Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Stan Savage kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doug Clarkson in the 5th minute of play forced A.S Venice's goalkeeper Barry Beaumont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stan Savage received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jon Dixon came out and tried to block the shot, but Stan Savage slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. Barry Beaumont made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc French in the 11th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Matt Maylett recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jon Dixon. Matt Maylett showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Stan Savage could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Jon Dixon made a huge save. 26 minutes into the match, Ormskirk's goal looked a bit too open when Matt Maylett came free, but Jon Dixon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes of play, Ormskirk's Marc French made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barry Beaumont was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Rowan McNiven in the 32nd minute of play forced Ormskirk's goalkeeper Jon Dixon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes of play, Ormskirk's James Longstaffe made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barry Beaumont was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, A.S Venice's Matt Maylett got a free kick in the 36th minute. Barry Beaumont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doug Clarkson in the 39th minute of the match. After 45 minutes of play, A.S Venice's Stan Savage made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jon Dixon was left in no man's land by his defense there!

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doug Clarkson to make the kick off. Barry Beaumont made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Scott Duke sent off a good shot on target. After 56 played minutes A.S Venice got a freekick which was hit by Stuart Jones. 59 minutes into the match, Scott Duke notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of A.S Venice's Barry Beaumont. Barry Beaumont was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Barry Beaumont showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc French, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. A.S Venice's Matt Maylett got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rowan McNiven struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Jon Dixon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.S Venice. A.S Venice's Rowan McNiven got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jon Dixon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stan Savage, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by James Longstaffe during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. James Longstaffe hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Doug Clarkson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barry Beaumont having to interfere. Barry Beaumont made an important save on a dangerous shot by James Longstaffe in the 86th minute. With a little luck, A.S Venice's Barry Beaumont got control of the ball when Scott Duke tried to sneak it across the goal line. Barry Beaumont didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marc French went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-4 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doug Clarkson in the 95th minute of play forced A.S Venice's goalkeeper Barry Beaumont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
