Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jasper Bowland kicked off to start the match. Garry Bridgeman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shane Lane went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With 6 minutes on the clock, Donny Hindmarsh commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Skelmersdale! Jude Stewart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Shane Lane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garry Bridgeman having to interfere. Garry Bridgeman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Lane in the 16th minute of the match. Jasper Bowland took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Garry Bridgeman. Chapel en le frith United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Richie Stevens during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Skelmersdale fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! In the 34th minute Ricky Downham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keiran Avery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Stu Warner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chapel en le frith United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skelmersdale the free kick. 37 minutes into the game, one of Chapel en le frith United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Skelmersdale a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Richie Stevens, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chapel en le frith United's Garry Bridgeman. 2-2. Chapel en le frith United's Keanu Senior got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricky Downham to strike the kick off in the second half. Shane Lane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Shane Lane came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Skelmersdale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shane Lane couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute, Keanu Senior hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Allan Slabber in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keiran Avery saved Skelmersdale from getting behind. Allan Slabber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marc Holdroyd charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marc Holdroyd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marc Holdroyd hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Chapel en le frith United's Garry Bridgeman got control of the ball when Shane Lane tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chapel en le frith United's Ricky Downham got a free kick in the 71st minute. When Marc Holdroyd came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Skelmersdale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Holdroyd couldn't finish the play. Skelmersdale's Shane Lane got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Skelmersdale booed when Chapel en le frith United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stu Warner didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Skelmersdale's Richie Stevens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Garry Bridgeman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Skelmersdale's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Slabber came free, but Keiran Avery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Shane Lane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skelmersdale's supporters rose to their feet, but Shane Lane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garry Bridgeman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shane Lane could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Garry Bridgeman made a huge save. The Skelmersdale players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Chapel en le frith United from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
