Greetland Warriors's Grant Gardener played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alastair Nailor in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Denzil Johnston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Gardener saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rupert Beesley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zane Barber having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Alastair Nailor notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Greetland Warriors's Grant Gardener. Grant Gardener was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute, Alastair Nailor made a precise shot to the right of Grant Gardener. Greetland Warriors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. The Greetland Warriors players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Handforth were winning 0-6.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rupert Beesley was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Alastair Nailor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 52nd minute Darius Duffy suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 53 minutes into the game, Leon Sheene was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Greetland Warriors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Handforth the free kick. Handforth made a substitution. Allan Whitehead replaced Darius Duffy. When CJ Champion came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Handforth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that CJ Champion couldn't finish the play. Gordon Portway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grant Gardener having to interfere. Grant Gardener made an important save on a dangerous shot by CJ Champion in the 85th minute. After 87 played minutes Handforth got a freekick which was hit by Allan Whitehead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Beesley in the 89th minute of play forced Handforth's goalkeeper Zane Barber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miles Oldroyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zane Barber having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Greetland Warriors's goal looked a bit too open when CJ Champion came free, but Grant Gardener reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Handforth left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Greetland Warriors.
