Seating: 0, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the game, Gerry Fearns was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Humair FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Milton Keynes City FC the free kick. In the 5th match minute, Humair FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerry Fearns to maneuver through the defense. Ty Nelson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Leon Challis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Humair FC fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Humair FC's Mick Barraclough looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rhys Timiney's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Leon Challis firmly grabbed it by the left post. 17 minutes into the game, Rhys Timiney cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Leon Challis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Mick Barraclough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brett Cowling was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After having played for 27 minutes, Mick Barraclough managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Humair FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mick Barraclough was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Phil Lewington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brett Cowling didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stuart Miller went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simeon Easter during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Humair FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Simeon Easter hit a great ball. Brett Cowling stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Phil Lewington's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. The audience was convinced that Mick Barraclough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brett Cowling was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Mick Barraclough might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brett Cowling. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mick Barraclough ran back to his position shaking his head. Brett Cowling stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mick Barraclough's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jay Blackley made a kick off. When Rhys Timiney came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Milton Keynes City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rhys Timiney couldn't finish the play. Phil Lewington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mick Barraclough in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brett Cowling saved Milton Keynes City FC from getting behind. Mick Barraclough in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brett Cowling, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With 64 minutes on the clock, James Oliver commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Humair FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Milton Keynes City FC:s goal. Leon Challis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jay Blackley in the 67th minute of play. If Gerry Fearns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phil Lewington got free with Brett Cowling in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by Milton Keynes City FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Phil Lewington was slow to take the kick. During this time Humair FC's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liam Lock got free with Brett Cowling in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th minute, Gerry Fearns got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humair FC's Stuart Miller got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simeon Easter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute Simeon Easter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brett Cowling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brett Cowling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerry Fearns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humair FC played a much better game than Milton Keynes City FC and deserved their victory. The Milton Keynes City FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
