Huey Lancaster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Moss having to interfere. Noel Moss didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 18th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. If Reggie Sharples had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kev Hughes to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Bicester's Reggie Sharples sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wayne Wing narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Noel Moss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Norwich's Wayne Wing got control of the ball when Ty Nethercoat tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Norwich booed when Bicester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Larry Bodsworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norwich were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Bicester for a fine match.
