The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garry Platt helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 5 minutes, Martin Langsford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. I Love Bathrooms's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Langsford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Wallasey booed when I Love Bathrooms was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob Sewell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dane Mabbutt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Olly Castledine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Louis Hales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Rush having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ged Coton in the 22nd minute of play forced I Love Bathrooms's goalkeeper Tony Rush to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of I Love Bathrooms booed when Wallasey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louie Speed didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Langsford received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Olly Castledine came out and tried to block the shot, but Martin Langsford slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. After 33 minutes of play, Wallasey's Ged Coton made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tony Rush was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Ged Coton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wallasey's supporters rose to their feet, but Ged Coton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Rush breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, Garry Platt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wallasey fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Eddie Boulding kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Ged Coton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The I Love Bathrooms fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 55th match minute, Wallasey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louis Hales to maneuver through the defense. Ged Coton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, Louis Hales got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olly Castledine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Langsford's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Louis Hales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Tony Rush tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony Rush made an important save on a dangerous shot by Louis Hales in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Dane Mabbutt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ged Coton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Louis Hales blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Rush having to make a save. In the 96th minute, Zackary Scholey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wallasey's Ged Coton managed to work through I Love Bathrooms's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ged Coton dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Despite being the better team, Wallasey failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
