Tipton's Nath Thorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trey Hayes in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes in the game, Trey Hayes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nath Thorn having to interfere. Tipton's Denny Driver got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Tipton booed when Great Addington United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trevor Phimister didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denny Driver might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rupert Summers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denny Driver ran back to his position shaking his head. If Tony Graydon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ozzy Vickers kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Garry Whieldon was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Denny Driver was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Trey Hayes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Great Addington United's supporters rose to their feet, but Trey Hayes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nath Thorn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nath Thorn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thom Morgan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denny Driver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Rupert Summers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 66 minutes, Johnny Whitman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Great Addington United and the Tipton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute Thom Morgan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nath Thorn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute of the match Great Addington United got a corner. Tipton's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trey Hayes in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nath Thorn saved Tipton from getting behind. Thom Morgan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tony Graydon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Rupert Summers made a huge save. If Trey Hayes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Great Addington United's Trey Hayes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nath Thorn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Denny Driver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 100th minute. Rupert Summers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
