After a defensive mix-up in Teignmouth City's zone, Brian Nailor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tom Salmon came out of the goal and Brian Nailor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Nailor in the 23rd minute of play forced Teignmouth City's goalkeeper Tom Salmon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Brian Nailor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barmby on the Marsh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Will Blake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

After a rather tough play, Teignmouth City's Barry Mawson got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Will Blake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brian Nailor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Barmby on the Marsh's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Mawson came free, but Damian Sills reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Barry Mawson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Will Blake could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Tom Salmon made a huge save. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barmby on the Marsh's goalkeeper Damian Sills, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Teignmouth City's Andrew Cambridge got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Teignmouth City had won after a very even match.
