Benji Stone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Holmer Green AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Sears to maneuver through the defense. Byron Halford came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Holmer Green AFC's Garth Vaughn. But to his dismay, Garth Vaughn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Curtis Goodwick kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Garth Vaughn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holmer Green AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Garth Vaughn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Byron Halford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Ritchie Penn put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benji Stone. Benji Stone made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Turnbull in the 34th minute. With a little luck, Holmer Green AFC's Benji Stone got control of the ball when John Turnbull tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Holmer Green AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Connor Walmsley to maneuver through the defense. John Turnbull took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benji Stone. Benji Stone dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 43 minutes into the match, Carlin How AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Seward came free, but Byron Halford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Turnbull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benji Stone having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ritchie Penn made a kick off. Benji Stone didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ritchie Penn went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Benji Stone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Turnbull, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After having played for 60 minutes, Rupert Seward managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Holmer Green AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert Seward was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rupert Seward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John Turnbull struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Benji Stone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carlin How AFC. 67 minutes into the game, Carlin How AFC's Ritchie Penn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benji Stone made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Turnbull in the 71st minute of play forced Holmer Green AFC's goalkeeper Benji Stone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Holmer Green AFC's goalkeeper Benji Stone, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. John Turnbull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
