Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bryan Avery started the match with the kick off. Gregory Broadbent was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gavin Groom showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. In the 9th minute, Verne Shakespeare got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Holford's Todd Barnes got a free kick in the 10th minute. Leo Boxall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Jerome Tanner fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc. Piky1one's protests and gave Jerome Tanner a yellow card for diving instead. Jerome Tanner kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Todd Barnes didn't quite understand what happened when in the 16 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. In the 17th minute, Peter Garrett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gordon Webster was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Gav Hinchcliffe fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc. Piky1one's protests and gave Gav Hinchcliffe a yellow card for diving instead. Gav Hinchcliffe kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Holford's zone, Jerome Tanner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregory Broadbent came out of the goal and Jerome Tanner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fc. Piky1one's Gavin Groom got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Holford getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Lucas Hay hit a great ball. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Holford's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leo Boxall was slow to take the kick. During this time Fc. Piky1one's players had a chance to rest. Leo Boxall made a great header on Fc. Piky1one's corner, it was just that Holford's Gregory Broadbent managed to reach the ball for a save. When Holford's Bryan Avery in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fc. Piky1one's goalie prevented a goal. Jerome Tanner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gregory Broadbent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Todd Barnes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavin Groom scored 2-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gregory Broadbent, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes into the game, Gavin Groom cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Gregory Broadbent was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Gavin Groom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Jerome Tanner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregory Broadbent was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Gavin Groom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leo Boxall made a kick off. Gordon Webster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Avery, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Holford's Gregory Broadbent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerome Tanner in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute Verne Shakespeare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregory Broadbent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregory Broadbent took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavin Groom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Leo Boxall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregory Broadbent was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. 62 minutes into the match, Todd Barnes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gordon Webster. Fc. Piky1one's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Todd Barnes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After 65 played minutes Holford got a freekick which was hit by Mickey Merchant. When Jerome Tanner came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Fc. Piky1one fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerome Tanner couldn't finish the play. Verne Shakespeare blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gregory Broadbent having to make a save. Jerome Tanner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jude Lennon in the 78th minute of play forced Holford's goalkeeper Gregory Broadbent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerome Tanner in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregory Broadbent saved Holford from getting behind. In the 86th minute Leo Boxall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregory Broadbent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerome Tanner in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregory Broadbent saved Holford from getting behind. Keiran Milner struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Gregory Broadbent didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc. Piky1one. Fc. Piky1one's Gavin Groom got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gordon Webster made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Garrett in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Fc. Piky1one had played much better football throughout.
