Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cowplain's Mick Buxton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mick Buxton struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Damian Whittington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cowplain. If Nial Brent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 played minutes Studley United got a freekick which was hit by Verne Shephard. Stewart Platt hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kristian Elliott in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Whittington saved Studley United from getting behind. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Mick Buxton sped through Studley United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Damian Whittington. Mick Buxton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Studley United's zone, Kristian Elliott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Whittington came out of the goal and Kristian Elliott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mick Buxton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Damian Whittington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kristian Elliott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Keiran Kerfoot made the kick off in the second half. Damian Whittington made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Kristian Elliott sent off a good shot on target. Damian Whittington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mick Buxton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 played minutes Cowplain got a freekick which was hit by Harry Wainwright. In the 61st minute, Frankie Newby sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cowplain's Jez Giles didn't even have to move. Jez Giles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nial Brent in the 67th minute of play. Studley United's Nial Brent got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mick Buxton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Cowplain getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Vincent Leighton hit a great ball. Nial Brent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jez Giles having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Cowplain got a freekick which was hit by Lloyd Roberts. After a defensive mix-up in Cowplain's zone, Nial Brent stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jez Giles came out of the goal and Nial Brent tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nial Brent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jez Giles having to interfere. Studley United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cowplain for a fine match.
