Brynn Devaney struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Shaun Glanvill didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rochester AFC. After 31 minutes, Brynn Devaney mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rochester AFC and the Wheaton Aston players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Rochester AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brynn Devaney to maneuver through the defense. Theo Haskell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rufus Gill in the 36th minute of play. In the 66th minute Brynn Devaney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shaun Glanvill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rich Rockett kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Rochester AFC's zone, Rufus Gill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Theo Haskell came out of the goal and Rufus Gill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brynn Devaney in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaun Glanvill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dave Merchant during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rochester AFC booed when Wheaton Aston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Merchant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Theo Haskell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rufus Gill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Rochester AFC had played much better football throughout.
