Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Calum Marston started the match with the kick off. Calum Marston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Wiley having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lovedean's Spike Manson got a free kick in the 4th minute. If Blair McGurk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ron Wiley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calum Marston in the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Lovedean's goalkeeper Ron Wiley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blair McGurk. Ron Wiley was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Calum Marston capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Calum Marston really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Calum Marston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremy Alderson during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Croughton AFC booed when Lovedean was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremy Alderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Lovedean's goalkeeper Ron Wiley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blair McGurk. After a rather tough play, Lovedean's Garry Church got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Gregory Butt was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Calum Marston dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ron Wiley, 2-0. Blair McGurks short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Ron Wiley to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Howard Lancaster to make the kick off. Luke Crowther showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Howard Lancaster in the 51st minute of the match. Ron Wiley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calum Marston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 57 played minutes Lovedean got a freekick which was hit by Jeremy Alderson. The attack was good, but when Calum Marston in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Blair McGurk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ron Wiley was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Blair McGurk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Croughton AFC's Damien Fry suffered a concussion in the 65th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Garry Church during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes Lovedean got a freekick which was hit by Garry Church. Carl Rundle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ron Wiley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ron Wiley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blair McGurk in the 72nd minute of the match. Ron Wiley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blair McGurk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garry Church kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Calum Marston hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Alec Kempson charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alec Kempson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th match minute, Lovedean was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alec Kempson to maneuver through the defense. After 98 played minutes Croughton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Blair McGurk. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Croughton AFC had won after a very even match.
