If CJ Gilchrist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, one of Walford:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Buster McGovern walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. A collision led to Kirkby in Ashfield getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Barry Hardcastle hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the game, Marek Cusack cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Stewart Moxey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 39 minutes into the game, Liam Woodcock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kirkby in Ashfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Walford the free kick. In the 39th minute, Liam Woodcock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stan Carlick made a kick off. CJ Gilchrist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Marek Cusack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walford's supporters rose to their feet, but Marek Cusack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stewart Moxey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reuben Bartlett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from CJ Gilchrist in the 63rd minute of the match. If CJ Gilchrist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reuben Bartlett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liam Woodcock's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Thomas Porter's late challenge caught a Kirkby in Ashfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomas Porter helped the player get up and apologised. After 76 played minutes Walford got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Porter. Liam Woodcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Reuben Bartlett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th match minute, Walford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stan Carlick to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by CJ Gilchrist in the 96th minute of play forced Walford's goalkeeper Reuben Bartlett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
