Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Quentin Zamora started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 3 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Owen McKeown. The long shot by Calvin Mannell in the 4th minute really tested Ross Beswetherick's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 5th minute of the match, Sammy Milner got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ross Beswetherick was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, New Cross's Sammy Milner got a free kick in the 7th minute. Shaun Fitzgerald stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ozzy Bowen's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ozzy Bowen in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaun Fitzgerald prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 13th minute of the match, Gary Dawson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ross Beswetherick saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ross Beswetherick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quentin Zamora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 minutes, Sammy Milner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New Cross and the FC Barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Byron Mannell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Shaun Fitzgerald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Gary Dawson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ross Beswetherick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Kev Banks. After having played for 27 minutes, Byron Mannell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Barcelona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Byron Mannell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ozzy Bowen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Shaun Fitzgerald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Graham Davies kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Sammy Milner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of New Cross booed when FC Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graham Davies didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graham Davies in the 41st minute of play forced New Cross's goalkeeper Shaun Fitzgerald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Ozzy Bowen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shaun Fitzgerald was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. 46 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Quentin Zamora came free, but Ross Beswetherick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ozzy Bowen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Sammy Milner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ozzy Bowen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Shaun Fitzgerald having to make a save. Byron Mannell might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shaun Fitzgerald. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Byron Mannell ran back to his position shaking his head. Graham Davies hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Den Webster kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Ozzy Bowen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute of the match Gregory Renwick shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ross Beswetherick showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When New Cross's Quentin Zamora, in the 84th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for New Cross. The referee felt a red card was in order, 87 minutes into the game, when Jonny Skinner put in a rough tackle. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Barcelona! The referee gave New Cross a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bradley Wrigley, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Barcelona's Ross Beswetherick. 1-0. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Philip Watson hit a great ball. After 95 played minutes New Cross got a freekick which was hit by Gary Dawson. When FC Barcelona's Ozzy Bowen in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye New Cross's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Graham Davies got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. New Cross were victorious despite being under pressure from FC Barcelona for much of the match.
