After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Giles Woodhead managed to get in a good position for a shot. West Rainton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Giles Woodhead was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. CJ Watts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 10 minutes into the game, Giles Woodhead cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. After having played for 24 minutes, Giles Woodhead managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Rainton City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giles Woodhead was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. West Rainton City's Giles Woodhead got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fred Hilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Brendon Barone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benji Lynam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benji Lynam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giles Woodhead made a kick off. 58 minutes into the match, West Rainton City's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Hilton came free, but Victor Owen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CJ Watts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benji Lynam in the 63rd minute. Kirk Hehir kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. CJ Watts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giles Woodhead in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hampton in Arden United's Dean Lomas got a free kick in the 65th minute. Dean Lomas kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, Rupert Clegg notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Hampton in Arden United's CJ Watts. CJ Watts was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. West Rainton City played a much better game than Hampton in Arden United and deserved their victory. The Hampton in Arden United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
