Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Woolton's Danny Moore started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Vernon Woodyat got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Dominic Harrad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Worksop City's supporters rose to their feet, but Dominic Harrad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norman Winterburn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Huey Page received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ruben Cousens came out and tried to block the shot, but Huey Page slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. Norman Winterburn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ged Dennison, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Vernon Woodyat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vernon Woodyat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ruben Cousens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Danny Moore got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Worksop City's Aaron Cornforth got a free kick in the 39th minute. Ruben Cousens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vernon Woodyat in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Dominic Harrad made the kick off in the second half. Danny Moore took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruben Cousens. Ruben Cousens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 62nd minute, one of Worksop City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Worksop City. When Woolton's Vernon Woodyat in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Worksop City's goalie prevented a goal. Danny Moore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Woolton's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Black ran over to the corner to take the kick. Garry Woodyat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ruben Cousens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vernon Woodyat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Cousens having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Worksop City's goal looked a bit too open when Vernon Woodyat came free, but Ruben Cousens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danny Moore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute.
