Spectators: 6706 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1706, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damon Clifford started the match with the kick off. When Rex Smikle came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Guildford City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rex Smikle couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stuart Odell in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Larry Walters saved East Dulwich City from getting behind. 10 minutes into the match, East Dulwich City's goal looked a bit too open when Rex Smikle came free, but Larry Walters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. East Dulwich City's Marcus Shaw suffered a sore thigh after 17 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 17 minutes, Ivan Orchard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guildford City and the East Dulwich City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The throw-in from Jake Middleton in the 20th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Guildford City's Frazer Chadwick. After a defensive mix-up in East Dulwich City's zone, Stuart Odell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Larry Walters came out of the goal and Stuart Odell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kirk Hargreaves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Simon Commons made a huge save. In the 25th minute, Kirk Hargreaves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, East Dulwich City's Kirk Hargreaves got a free kick in the 28th minute. Larry Walters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rex Smikle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stuart Odell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. East Dulwich City's Larry Walters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rex Smikle in the 35th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Ivan Orchard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Stuart Odell made the kick off in the second half. Guildford City's Simon Commons played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camron Bailey in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Guildford City's Stuart Odell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Larry Walters narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Guildford City booed when East Dulwich City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camron Bailey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stuart Odell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kirk Hargreaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Commons having to interfere. Simon Commons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kirk Hargreaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jake Middleton during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes East Dulwich City got a freekick which was hit by Jake Middleton. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Kirk Hargreaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. East Dulwich City's supporters rose to their feet, but Kirk Hargreaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simon Commons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Camron Bailey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The East Dulwich City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Stuart Odell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guildford City's supporters rose to their feet, but Stuart Odell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Larry Walters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
