Stratford Rivers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coalville the free kick. Nath Dunn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36thth minute of the game Derek Gilchrist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stratford Rivers's Sly Titmuss was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Coalville getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Bradley Langford hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Kasey Dines's late challenge caught a Stratford Rivers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Coalville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nath Dunn should have stopped the shot. Ragnar Abrahamsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nath Dunn having to interfere. If Paulo Peyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ragnar Abrahamsson struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Nath Dunn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stratford Rivers. Ragnar Abrahamsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stratford Rivers made a substitution. Christopher Torpey replaced Carlton Medley. In the 84th minute, Paulo Peyo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nath Dunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Peyo in the 86th minute of play. Rueben Dixon was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 89 minutes into the match. Billy Wing shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Donald Burns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Nath Dunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stratford Rivers played a much better game than Coalville and deserved their victory. The Coalville players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
