Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) When Ragnar Abrahamsson came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Stratford Rivers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ragnar Abrahamsson couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Kendall in the 7th minute of play forced Stratford Rivers's goalkeeper Sly Titmuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9thth minute of the game Dale Elvins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Greenock F.C's Mattias Bayliff was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Stratford Rivers's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Kendall came free, but Sly Titmuss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graham Cullen in the 16th minute of play forced Stratford Rivers's goalkeeper Sly Titmuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Stratford Rivers's Ragnar Abrahamsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mattias Bayliff. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. If Donald Burns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mattias Bayliff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Elvins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute Graham Cullen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sly Titmuss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stratford Rivers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gez Talbot was slow to take the kick. During this time Greenock F.C's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Gez Talbot got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sly Titmuss quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graham Cullen in the 32nd minute of play forced Stratford Rivers's goalkeeper Sly Titmuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Graham Cullen in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sly Titmuss prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 33 minutes into the match, Stratford Rivers's goal looked a bit too open when Byron Bassett came free, but Sly Titmuss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sly Titmuss showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graham Cullen in the 35th minute of the match. Mattias Bayliff was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Ragnar Abrahamsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ragnar Abrahamsson really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. 39 minutes into the match, Stratford Rivers's goal looked a bit too open when Graham Cullen came free, but Sly Titmuss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Nick Whitmore fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Greenock F.C's protests and gave Nick Whitmore a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Greenock F.C's Nick Whitmore got a free kick in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Greenock F.C's zone, Donald Burns stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mattias Bayliff came out of the goal and Donald Burns tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Paulo Peyo made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Paulo Peyo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mattias Bayliff was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 55 minutes into the game, Paulo Peyo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stratford Rivers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Greenock F.C the free kick. After a rather tough play, Stratford Rivers's Alan Webster got a free kick in the 59th minute. Sly Titmuss made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Byron Bassett sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Peyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th match minute, Greenock F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damien Symons to maneuver through the defense. Bobby Willets was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 68th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graham Cullen in the 73rd minute of play forced Stratford Rivers's goalkeeper Sly Titmuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattias Bayliff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Peyo in the 82nd minute of play. Greenock F.C's Mattias Bayliff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ragnar Abrahamsson in the 85th minute of play. Stratford Rivers made a substitution. Christopher Torpey replaced Carlton Medley. When the referee ended the match the Stratford Rivers players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
