Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nick East started the match with the kick off. If Nick East had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, Guy Commons notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Weston Super Mare's Ged Rogers. Ged Rogers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nick East took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ged Rogers. Ged Rogers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Weston Super Mare's Ged Rogers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy Commons in the 24th minute of play. When Weston Super Mare's Walter Pennant in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maplin FC's goalie prevented a goal. Nick East scored 0-5 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ged Rogers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute, Mike Hylton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carl Bridge scored 0-6 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ged Rogers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Nick East managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maplin FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nick East was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ged Rogers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walter Pennant to make the kick off. Weston Super Mare's Ged Rogers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Weston Super Mare from getting a goal against them. In the 58thth minute of the game Walter Pennant who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maplin FC's Gav Davis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Guy Commons took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Ged Rogers to make any attempt to save it. Walter Pennant took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gav Davis. Gav Davis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. Ged Rogers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donald Patten in the 71st minute of the match. Nick East could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Ged Rogers made a huge save. Nick East's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ged Rogers firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Weston Super Mare's Gav Sugden got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Stevie Wittingham fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maplin FC's protests and gave Stevie Wittingham a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, Stevie Wittingham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Dean Paine ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gav Davis was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7. Gav Davis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Pennant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gav Davis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Pennant in the 96th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy Commons in the 98th minute of play forced Weston Super Mare's goalkeeper Ged Rogers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Weston Super Mare supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Maplin FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Maplin FC.
