Eddie Jennings received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Don Brazier came out and tried to block the shot, but Eddie Jennings slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 24th minute. Dale Rain charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dale Rain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nial Froggatt in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miles Cullen saved Dunchurch from getting behind. Ronny Hulbert might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miles Cullen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronny Hulbert ran back to his position shaking his head. After 35 minutes, Alfie Beckford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dunchurch and the Stony Stratford Town FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alfie Beckford hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the game, Stony Stratford Town FC's Nial Froggatt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Miles Cullen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Stony Stratford Town FC's Ronny Hulbert got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dunchurch's Miles Cullen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nial Froggatt in the 43rd minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eddie Jennings was the one to do the kick off. Dale Rain kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Nial Froggatt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miles Cullen. Dunchurch's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nial Froggatt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Dunchurch's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ronny Hulbert 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddie Jennings in the 76th minute of play forced Stony Stratford Town FC's goalkeeper Don Brazier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Dunchurch's goalkeeper Miles Cullen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nial Froggatt. Don Brazier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddie Jennings, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nial Froggatt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Dunchurch booed when Stony Stratford Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristram Moxon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miles Cullen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronny Hulbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Stony Stratford Town FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
