Milton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colwick FC the free kick. A collision led to Milton getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Trevor Gould hit a great ball. Ash Butterworth charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ash Butterworth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Milton getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ash Butterworth hit a great ball. Rupert Eagles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Blacksmith in the 6th minute of play. The Colwick FC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Colwick FC's Bryan Blacksmith looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rupert Eagles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joe Hales went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 18 minutes into the game, Colwick FC's Bryan Blacksmith nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rupert Eagles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 22nd minute Ross Huxtable shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rupert Eagles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bryan Blacksmith took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rupert Eagles. Rupert Eagles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Blacksmith in the 30th minute of play forced Milton's goalkeeper Rupert Eagles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Colwick FC's Joe Hales in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Milton's goalie prevented a goal. Rupert Eagles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Blacksmith in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Joe Hales left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colwick FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Karl Buxton's late challenge caught a Milton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl Buxton helped the player get up and apologised. Sol Blacknell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Clóvis Koehler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After 46 played minutes, Colwick FC's Taner Berksoy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rupert Eagles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Colwick FC reached it. The Milton players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Colwick FC were winning 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bryan Blacksmith to strike the kick off in the second half. Joe Hales took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rupert Eagles. Rupert Eagles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. In the 63rd match minute, Milton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Hylton to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Joe Hales managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colwick FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joe Hales was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rupert Eagles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Bryan Blacksmith took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Rupert Eagles to make any attempt to save it. In the 68th minute, Bryan Blacksmith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bryan Blacksmith in the 72nd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Rupert Eagles kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-8 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The crowd rose to their feet as Colwick FC's Bryan Blacksmith slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rupert Eagles. That made the score 0-9 after 77 minutes of play. Colwick FC were furious when Thomas Hopton was red carded, 81 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 81st minute, one of Colwick FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Colwick FC. Richie Walton shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Karl Kaye hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If Joe Hales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Colwick FC played a much better game than Milton and deserved their victory. The Milton players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
