Spectators: 7376 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 20) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Shaun Hornsby got the match started through his kick off. In the 7thth minute of the game Shaun Hornsby who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Launceston United's Jonathon Cotton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathon Cotton made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Eric Cantona sent off a good shot on target. After 14 minutes, Todd Broadbent mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Launceston United and the Chilcompton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Todd Broadbent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eric Cantona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chilcompton's Shaun Hornsby was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Eric Cantona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Shaun Hornsby's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Jonathon Cotton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jonathon Cotton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shaun Hornsby in the 34th minute of the match. Eric Cantona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Cotton having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Chilcompton's Shaun Hornsby sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathon Cotton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Alastair Dixon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Launceston United's zone, Shaun Hornsby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathon Cotton came out of the goal and Shaun Hornsby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Launceston United's Jonathon Cotton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Launceston United from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paul Summerfield to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Andy Johnson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathon Cotton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alastair Dixon kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Paul Summerfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Giorgos Bletsios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Shaun Hornsby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 69th match minute, Chilcompton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shaun Hornsby to maneuver through the defense. The Chilcompton fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Chilcompton's Shaun Hornsby looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shaun Hornsby in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathon Cotton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 79 played minutes Launceston United got a freekick which was hit by Alastair Dixon. After having played for 84 minutes, Eric Cantona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chilcompton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Cantona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shaun Hornsby in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathon Cotton saved Launceston United from getting behind. If Kelvin Verity had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shaun Hornsby struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Jonathon Cotton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chilcompton. Shaun Hornsby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Cotton having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Shaun Hornsby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shaun Hornsby in the 93rd minute of play forced Launceston United's goalkeeper Jonathon Cotton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Chilcompton had played much better football throughout.
