The supporters of Dove Holes City booed when Woodley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luke Robson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Harry Cadwallader managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dove Holes City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Cadwallader was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Harry Cadwallader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Garth Walker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brian Berryman struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Garth Walker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dove Holes City. Garth Walker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnathon Oldham, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The audience was convinced that Harry Cadwallader's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garth Walker was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richard Blewett was the one to do the kick off. Kevin Bayne kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Garth Walker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Cadwallader in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Harry Cadwallader got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Harry Cadwallader managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dove Holes City's supporters rose to their feet, but Harry Cadwallader was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garth Walker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brian Berryman kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Luke Robson, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience was convinced that Harry Cadwallader's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garth Walker was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After 75 minutes of play, Woodley City's Richard Blewett made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Garth Walker was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Harry Cadwallader showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 82 minute of play. When Johnathon Oldham fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dove Holes City's protests and gave Johnathon Oldham a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, Dove Holes City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnathon Oldham to maneuver through the defense. Woodley City's Garth Walker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Cadwallader in the 91st minute of play.
