Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ian Midson kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Atkins got free with Isaac Ridsdale in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute, Ian Midson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute Curtis Poynton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Ridsdale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frank Ridsdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Les Phelps, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ian Midson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Isaac Ridsdale came out and tried to block the shot, but Ian Midson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. After 14 minutes, Dom Sheringham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harvington United and the Lymm players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Harvington United getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Dom Sheringham hit a great ball. Frank Ridsdale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Curtis Poynton, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 24 minutes of play, Lymm's William Atkins made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isaac Ridsdale was left in no man's land by his defense there! Curtis Poynton scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frank Ridsdale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ian Midson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaac Ridsdale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Midson in the 46th minute of play. Andre Wildman shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Les Phelps to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute, Les Phelps fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Frank Ridsdale, passed just outside the right post. Ian Midson scored 3-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isaac Ridsdale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lymm's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Les Phelps 75 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-2. In the 78thth minute of the game William Atkins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harvington United's Isaac Ridsdale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lymm's William Atkins got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. William Atkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Harvington United's Isaac Ridsdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Atkins in the 86th minute of play. Les Phelps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 played minutes Lymm got a freekick which was hit by John Paul Kearney. After a rather tough play, Lymm's Lewis Kearney got a free kick in the 94th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Harvington United's Nat Cooke broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Isaac Ridsdale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Atkins, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lymm fans cheered their team off the field, for while Harvington United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
