Doncaster's Ted Broadbent shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tod Ashton but with some difficulty. In the 7thth minute of the game Carl Story-Moore who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Launceston's Tod Ashton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tod Ashton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Story-Moore, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 18 played minutes Launceston got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Christie. In the 22nd minute, Doncaster's Carl Story-Moore ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tod Ashton. Tod Ashton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 26 minutes into the match, Doncaster's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew Christie came free, but Sebastian Keyworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keith Edworthy succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 29th playminute. Gaz Doona's late challenge caught a Launceston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaz Doona helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Doncaster:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Launceston:s goal. Peter Hollingsworth placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 37th minute, Andrew Christie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 42 minutes, Carl Story-Moore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Doncaster's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carl Story-Moore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Doncaster booed when Launceston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huey Mallaby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tod Ashton acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 46th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ted Broadbent. Tod Ashton made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Keith Edworthy sent off a good shot on target.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carl Story-Moore to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Doncaster got a corner. Launceston's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ted Broadbent ran over to the corner to take the kick. The attack was good, but when Andrew Christie in the 60th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Carl Story-Moore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute Carl Story-Moore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Ashton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Launceston's Sebastian Keyworth threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Andrew Christie, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Andrew Christie who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Sebastian Keyworth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 75 played minutes Andrew Christie rounded Doncaster's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. Jason Wroe kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Ted Broadbent, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Stew Lyons struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Sebastian Keyworth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Launceston. After a defensive mix-up in Doncaster's zone, Andrew Christie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Keyworth came out of the goal and Andrew Christie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tod Ashton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Story-Moore in the 91st minute of the match. Jason Wroe charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jason Wroe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tod Ashton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Story-Moore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Launceston players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Doncaster.
