Great Leighs Stadium
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Patrick Cook made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 6th minute, Lucas Nevin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Great Leighs AFC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Gus Toulson hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the game, Gus Toulson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Great Leighs AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Withernsea the free kick. In the 11th minute, Peter Chipperfield sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Great Leighs AFC's Nigel Kaye didn't even have to move. Bryan Young sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nigel Kaye showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Nevin, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Bryan Young fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Kaye having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Great Leighs AFC's zone, Nat Vaughan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nigel Kaye came out of the goal and Nat Vaughan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Great Leighs AFC's Nigel Kaye played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Young in the 28th minute of play. Bryan Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nigel Kaye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Nat Vaughan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Withernsea's supporters rose to their feet, but Nat Vaughan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nigel Kaye breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 34 minutes, Will Bow managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Withernsea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Will Bow was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Nat Vaughan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nigel Kaye was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Nat Vaughan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nat Vaughan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Will Bow recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Bryan Young sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Bryan Young had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Bryan Young took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Nigel Kaye to make any attempt to save it. Withernsea's Nat Vaughan got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lucas Nevin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bryan Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Nigel Kaye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucas Nevin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Great Leighs AFC's goalkeeper Nigel Kaye had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Nevin. In the 73rd minute, Gus Toulson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bryan Young took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nigel Kaye. Nigel Kaye dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. If Bryan Young had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 82 minutes, Nat Vaughan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Withernsea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nat Vaughan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nat Vaughan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Nigel Kaye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bryan Young could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Nigel Kaye made a huge save. After 89 minutes, Nat Vaughan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Withernsea and the Great Leighs AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Nat Vaughan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute Nat Vaughan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Kaye saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bryan Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nigel Kaye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Withernsea's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
