Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jack Pope made the kick off which started today's match. In the 6th minute, Ian Blueman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eric Charles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Clarke having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Eric Charles kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ben Clarke. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eric Charles in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ben Clarke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 17 minutes, Eric Charles made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Honiton AFC's Ben Clarke tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stephen Coulson in the 21st minute of play forced Sporting Hill FC's goalkeeper Darius Butt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Freddy Johnson during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Rupert Buckle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eric Charles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Ben Clarke when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Stephen Coulson in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sporting Hill FC's Ian Blueman. Ben Clarke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Charles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, one of Honiton AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Ben Clarke, was totally fooled by Sporting Hill FC's Rupert Buckle, who 46 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Jack Pope hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 63rd play minutes Eric Charles shot 5-1, a short shot which went by Ben Clarke and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 66th match minute, Honiton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Pope to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 68 minutes, Ian Blueman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Hill FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Blueman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Darius Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack Pope in the 70th minute of play. Harry Ely sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sporting Hill FC's Mike Frost quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vance Sands, made in the 79th minute of the game. After having played for 81 minutes, Eric Charles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Hill FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Charles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Honiton AFC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Charlie Busby hit a great ball.
