The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Zaq Garrett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oxfordshire FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 9th minute, Ritchie Horsey made a precise shot to the right of Graham Shearer. Oxfordshire FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ritchie Horsey's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Graham Shearer skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Lee United booed when Oxfordshire FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zaq Garrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 played minutes, Lee United's Vernon Venables shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Graham Shearer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lee United reached it. Ivan Pearson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Graham Shearer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Oxfordshire FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Kenny Cutts hit a great ball. Oxfordshire FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ritchie Horsey 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-1. Bruce Fayle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brendon Colt in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 28th minute Brendon Colt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruce Fayle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ray Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30thth minute of the game Ritchie Horsey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oxfordshire FC's Graham Shearer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ritchie Horsey got free with Graham Shearer in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ivan Pearson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Graham Shearer having to interfere. After 37 played minutes Oxfordshire FC got a freekick which was hit by Trey Mumford. In the 38th minute of the match Tris Bishop shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Graham Shearer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Graham Shearer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gav Cookson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brendon Colt was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Ray Shaw cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Graham Shearer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Oxfordshire FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Phillip Ingram hit a great ball. Brendon Colt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Bruce Fayle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Connor Ramsay hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Graham Shearer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ritchie Horsey, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. A collision led to Lee United getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Christian Boyce hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, Oxfordshire FC's Darren Bourne broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 85th minute, Tris Bishop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brendon Colt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oxfordshire FC's Drew Powell shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 92nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bruce Fayle but with some difficulty. Graham Shearer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ritchie Horsey in the 94th minute of the match. Lee United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
