Spectators: 6702 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1702, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jonny Pettifer started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Droylsden's Stew Edgson got control of the ball when Jonny Pettifer tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 6th match minute, Droylsden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Kinsey to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Browne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andre Coote, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 15thth minute of the game Trevor Philips who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cookham's Benjamin Browne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Trev Davies fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cookham's protests and gave Trev Davies a yellow card for diving instead. 17 minutes into the game, Droylsden's Trevor Philips nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benjamin Browne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Benjamin Browne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andre Coote's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Andre Coote put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benjamin Browne. In the 27th minute of the match Jay Acton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Browne showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Cookham's goal looked a bit too open when Andre Coote came free, but Benjamin Browne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Droylsden's Andre Coote got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute Trevor Philips shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Browne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Coote in the 32nd minute of play forced Cookham's goalkeeper Benjamin Browne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Cookham booed when Droylsden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ben Kinsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cookham's Devon Kenna couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 36th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Droylsden. After 42 played minutes, Droylsden's Paul Clarkson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benjamin Browne came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Droylsden reached it. Benjamin Browne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andre Coote's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Jimmy Yorke kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Benjamin Browne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jay Acton in the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Trevor Philips to make the kick off. Lucas Borrowdale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Stew Edgson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Barry Orchard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Cookham booed when Droylsden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry Orchard didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute Lucas Borrowdale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stew Edgson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Borrowdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Droylsden's Trevor Philips in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cookham's goalie prevented a goal. After 70 played minutes Cookham got a freekick which was hit by Gus Bell. If Trevor Philips had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cookham getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Gus Bell hit a great ball. With his leg Benjamin Browne managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Droylsden's Andre Coote fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Droylsden walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
