Skegby's Doug Lambley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Skegby from getting a goal against them. Tyler Oldham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Will Bartlett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vic Norfolk came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Skegby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vic Norfolk couldn't finish the play. Gordon Cole's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Doug Lambley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Vic Norfolk sped through Oxford's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Will Bartlett. Will Bartlett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vic Norfolk's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Tyler Oldham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Will Bartlett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 39 played minutes Oxford got a freekick which was hit by Stan Weatherhead. Will Bartlett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vic Norfolk, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Tyler Oldham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Will Bartlett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to Skegby getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Vic Norfolk hit a great ball. Will Bartlett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tyler Oldham in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vic Norfolk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oxford's Reuben Sadler got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Will Bartlett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic Norfolk in the 53rd minute of play. With a little luck, Oxford's Will Bartlett got control of the ball when Tyler Oldham tried to sneak it across the goal line. Will Bartlett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vic Norfolk's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tyler Oldham during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Oxford booed when Skegby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyler Oldham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tyler Oldham might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Will Bartlett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tyler Oldham ran back to his position shaking his head. When Vic Norfolk came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Skegby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vic Norfolk couldn't finish the play. Junior Fordham was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Reuben Sadler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doug Lambley having to interfere. Gordon Cole received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Doug Lambley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tyler Oldham was extremely unlucky when he, in the 73rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Reuben Sadler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doug Lambley having to interfere. During the 87th minute of the match Tyler Oldham completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tyler Oldham a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Tyler Oldham kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Junior Fordham shot a long shot in the 90th minute and a light blocked Doug Lambley hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-2. Gordon Cole fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doug Lambley having to interfere. Reuben Sadler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doug Lambley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Skegby played a much better game than Oxford and deserved their victory. The Oxford players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
