The tension between the Deal and the St Agnes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, Shane Hilditch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reuben Grantham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul Collingwood in the 9th minute. Reuben Grantham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Sutcliffe, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. If Junior Sutcliffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reuben Grantham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Junior Sutcliffe in the 26th minute of the match. If Paul Collingwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eddy Devaney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Hubbard in the 30th minute of play. Simon Henry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, St Agnes's Tom Farrell got a free kick in the 35th minute. Reuben Grantham came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by St Agnes's Paul Collingwood. But to his dismay, Paul Collingwood quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 45th minute of the match Richard Horn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reuben Grantham skillfully saved the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sammy Quantrill made a kick off. In the 55th minute, one of Deal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deal. Richard Horn placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Reuben Grantham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Junior Sutcliffe in the 60th minute of the match. Aaron Hubbard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Devaney having to interfere. In the 67thth minute of the game Sammy Quantrill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but St Agnes's Eddy Devaney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jo Orchard took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eddy Devaney. St Agnes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Deal's goalkeeper Reuben Grantham, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paul Collingwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reuben Grantham having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Ryan Batty was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave St Agnes the free kick. A collision led to Deal getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Ryan Batty hit a great ball. When Paul Collingwood came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the St Agnes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paul Collingwood couldn't finish the play. Deal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
