George Zamora could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Eric Gurney made a huge save. Eric Gurney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogdan Labus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elvira FC's Nick Berry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kieran Anderson in the 16th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Atherstone United's zone, Hayden Blower stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Gurney came out of the goal and Hayden Blower tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the game, Alan Sears cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nick Berry was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 22 minutes into the match, Jerry Goodwick notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Elvira FC's Nick Berry. Nick Berry was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Owen Turk in the 28th minute of play forced Elvira FC's goalkeeper Nick Berry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Elvira FC booed when Atherstone United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Poole didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 34 minutes on the clock, Maximo Enetz commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. A very good chance. When Hayden Blower came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Elvira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hayden Blower couldn't finish the play. In the 41stth minute of the game Nigel Platt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atherstone United's Eric Gurney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan Sears made a kick off. In the 55th minute Kieran Anderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nick Berry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elvira FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Owen Turk scored to the left of an out of position Nick Berry, making the score, 1-3. Eric Gurney stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nigel Platt's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 64th match minute, Atherstone United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavin Blower to maneuver through the defense. Owen Turk who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Nick Berry when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 81stth minute of the game Nigel Platt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atherstone United's Eric Gurney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. George Zamora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Victor Poole fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atherstone United's protests and gave Victor Poole a yellow card for diving instead. Nigel Platt struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Eric Gurney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elvira FC. Owen Turk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Nick Berry made a huge save. Nick Berry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Sears in the 94th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Elvira FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
