Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marek Woods got the match started through his kick off. Moretonhampstead's Howard Burley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Moretonhampstead from getting a goal against them. In the 11th match minute, Golders Green United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Kear to maneuver through the defense. Moretonhampstead's Nick Bailey couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Golders Green United. Marek Woods sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Howard Burley was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Sonny Horsell capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sonny Horsell really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 41 minutes into the match, Moretonhampstead's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Woods came free, but Howard Burley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Howard Burley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marek Woods's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Kurt Kear dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Howard Burley, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aaron Drake to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Moretonhampstead's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Woods came free, but Howard Burley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th match minute, Golders Green United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Hitchcock to maneuver through the defense. When David Dennison came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Moretonhampstead fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Dennison couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aaron Drake in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gary Sugden prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sonny Horsell struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Howard Burley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golders Green United. After some careless play in the Moretonhampstead defense, Sonny Horsell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Howard Burley. The Moretonhampstead fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Howard Burley should have stopped the shot. Marek Woods struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Howard Burley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golders Green United. Sonny Horsell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Howard Burley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Woods in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, David Dennison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sonny Horsell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Howard Burley having to interfere. When Golders Green United's Sonny Horsell in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Golders Green United's Gary Sugden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Drake in the 94th minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Sonny Horsell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golders Green United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sonny Horsell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moretonhampstead's Howard Burley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marek Woods in the 97th minute of play. Golders Green United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Moretonhampstead for a fine match.
