Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The crowd rose to their feet as Broadstairs's Matt Blacknell slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fitz Taggart. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. Dom Lawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Harvey Battersby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wes Fawell struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Fitz Taggart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Broadstairs. After a defensive mix-up in Broadstairs's zone, Dom Lawson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harvey Battersby came out of the goal and Dom Lawson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Allan Cotton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Fitz Taggart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Broadstairs getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jason Oliver hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Trevor Clarke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Broadstairs's Allan Cotton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fitz Taggart narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Zackary Barrow came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Birch House AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zackary Barrow couldn't finish the play. If Dom Lawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Birch House AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 35th minute. Penalty! After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Allan Cotton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Broadstairs's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Cotton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fitz Taggart breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th match minute, Broadstairs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Oliver to maneuver through the defense. Phillip Ridgeway, 47 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dom Lawson made a kick off. Fitz Taggart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Cotton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Birch House AFC's Mickey Talbot got a free kick in the 54th minute. Fitz Taggart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Cotton in the 55th minute of the match. Fitz Taggart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Cotton in the 58th minute of play. In the 61st minute Dom Lawson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harvey Battersby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wes Fawell in the 69th minute of play forced Birch House AFC's goalkeeper Fitz Taggart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Broadstairs's Harvey Battersby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Broadstairs from getting a goal against them. Allan Cotton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
