Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After 3 minutes, Kenny Graydon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sandbach and the Cleethorpes players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrick Mead in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Todd Scrivener saved Sandbach from getting behind. In the 7th minute, Ron Connell made a precise shot to the right of Todd Scrivener. Sandbach's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Ron Connell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Todd Scrivener made a huge save. After 15 played minutes Sandbach got a freekick which was hit by Sammy Billington. Ron Connell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Todd Scrivener having to interfere. Sandbach's Todd Scrivener played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Mead in the 21st minute of play. Ron Connell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Todd Scrivener took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Mead, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Patrick Mead sped through Sandbach's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Todd Scrivener. After 28 played minutes Cleethorpes got a freekick which was hit by Jon Robson. In the 29thth minute of the game Charles Sercombe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cleethorpes's Marcus Mayall was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute of the match, Patrick Mead tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Todd Scrivener saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Sandbach's Luke Hellen got a free kick in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Billington in the 42nd minute of play forced Cleethorpes's goalkeeper Marcus Mayall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Patrick Mead's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Todd Scrivener was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 54th match minute, Sandbach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luke Hellen to maneuver through the defense. Sandbach's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Sercombe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 4-2 when Patrick Mead sped through Sandbach's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Todd Scrivener. With a little luck, Cleethorpes's Marcus Mayall got control of the ball when Charles Sercombe tried to sneak it across the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cleethorpes fully deserved thier win.
