The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Osfich FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fowey City:s goal. Osfich FC:s Tristram Walters showed great skill when he stopped Andre Littlechild:s penalty. Andre Littlechild scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tristram Walters, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Filippo Ferraris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Jamie Nicoll managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fowey City's supporters rose to their feet, but Jamie Nicoll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tristram Walters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nigel Kay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filippo Ferraris in the 24th minute of play. Ollie Button recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Enrique Amaya hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Austin Conway might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nigel Kay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Austin Conway ran back to his position shaking his head. Filippo Ferraris blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nigel Kay having to make a save. 48 minutes into the game, Fowey City's Jamie Nicoll nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tristram Walters made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Fowey City's zone, Filippo Ferraris stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nigel Kay came out of the goal and Filippo Ferraris tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Osfich FC booed when Fowey City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alastair Winehouse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filippo Ferraris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Kay having to interfere. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Osfich FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Andre Littlechild was slow to take the kick. During this time Fowey City's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Andre Littlechild almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Osfich FC's Tristram Walters did a great save. When Syd Heath came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Osfich FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Syd Heath couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Fowey City defense, Filippo Ferraris kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nigel Kay. The Fowey City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nigel Kay should have stopped the shot. Jamie Nicoll sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ollie Button in the 89th minute of play forced Osfich FC's goalkeeper Tristram Walters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fowey City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
