Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dylon Talbot kicked off to start the match. Dylon Talbot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Gill having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Gwyn Kitchen made a precise shot to the right of Gordon Mansfield. Clacton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Gordon Mansfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Duggan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gwyn Kitchen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Whickham's goal looked a bit too open when Dylon Talbot came free, but Kris Gill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Whickham's Samuel Dixon got a free kick in the 30th minute. Dylon Talbot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Billy Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Billy Duggan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Mansfield having to interfere. Gordon Mansfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwyn Kitchen, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Kris Gill made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Ben Bullock sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Clacton booed when Whickham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronnie Bayne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Seb Garforth kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Scott Howson, 61 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ben Bullock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Kris Gill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kris Gill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dylon Talbot in the 65th minute of play. Ben Bullock struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Kris Gill didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clacton. In the 70th minute, Billy Duggan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Whickham fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Gordon Mansfield came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Whickham's Samuel Dixon. But to his dismay, Samuel Dixon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. If Gwyn Kitchen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Billy Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Billy Duggan came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Whickham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Billy Duggan couldn't finish the play. Whickham's Kris Gill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ben Bullock in the 90th minute of play. Billy Duggan struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Gordon Mansfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whickham. Whickham's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
