When Jamal Lonsdale came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Maidenhead City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jamal Lonsdale couldn't finish the play. Stu Newton charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stu Newton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stu Newton hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Charles Dawson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamal Lonsdale in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maidenhead City's goalkeeper Seth Westerby, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alistair Broadhead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seth Westerby having to interfere. Charles Dawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamal Lonsdale, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Maidenhead City's Jamal Lonsdale got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes in the game, Benji Messenger fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Seth Westerby having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benji Messenger was the one to do the kick off. If Benji Messenger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 54thth minute of the game Benji Messenger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maidenhead City's Seth Westerby was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 55th minute, Franz Everard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Seth Westerby stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benji Messenger's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Stretford's zone, Johnnie Holdsworth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Dawson came out of the goal and Johnnie Holdsworth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charles Dawson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jamal Lonsdale's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Benji Messenger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Stretford had played much better football throughout.
