In the 11th minute, Gösta Frisck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brynn Hume's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bruno Rodrigues firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Basildon's Brynn Hume got a free kick in the 14th minute. Trey Rowett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Frisck in the 18th minute of play. With his leg Bruno Rodrigues managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Basildon's Brynn Hume fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Calvin Slabber took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Rodrigues. Bruno Rodrigues dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in The Boys's zone, Brynn Hume stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Rodrigues came out of the goal and Brynn Hume tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Boys's Bruno Rodrigues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save The Boys from getting a goal against them. Junior Deveraux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gösta Frisck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Brynn Hume who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Boys's Bruno Rodrigues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 52nd minute Junior Deveraux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trey Rowett was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Steven Gettins capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Steven Gettins really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Gösta Frisck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trey Rowett having to interfere. Trey Rowett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Frisck in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, The Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Junior Deveraux came free, but Bruno Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Junior Deveraux scored 3-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruno Rodrigues, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the match, The Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Brynn Hume came free, but Bruno Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 played minutes Basildon got a freekick which was hit by Blair Small. After having played for 80 minutes, Gösta Frisck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gösta Frisck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Junior Deveraux made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Rodrigues. The Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Brynn Hume might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brynn Hume ran back to his position shaking his head. If Gösta Frisck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basildon's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
