An unexpectedly hard shot by Tod Culverhouse in the 9th minute of play forced Hythe FC's goalkeeper Sean Thorn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sean Thorn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Barfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Hythe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tod Culverhouse came free, but Sean Thorn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ringwood's Graeme Purvis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Ringwood from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Jonny Speed got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Graeme Purvis stood somewhat misplaced when Jonny Speed came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 25 minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonny Speed got free with Graeme Purvis in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sean Thorn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tod Culverhouse, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With his leg Graeme Purvis managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Hythe FC's Jonny Speed fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Ringwood defense, Jonny Speed kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Graeme Purvis. The Ringwood fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Graeme Purvis should have stopped the shot. Jonny Speed recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Hythe FC's Jonny Speed nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Graeme Purvis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After some careless play in the Hythe FC defense, Dave Barfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sean Thorn. The Hythe FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sean Thorn should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Jonny Speed sped through Ringwood's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Graeme Purvis. 58 minutes into the match, Ringwood's goal looked a bit too open when Jonny Speed came free, but Graeme Purvis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonny Speed struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Graeme Purvis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hythe FC. Duncan Wardill's late challenge caught a Ringwood's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duncan Wardill helped the player get up and apologised. Duncan Wardill kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Hythe FC's Jonny Speed got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Ringwood's goal looked a bit too open when Jonny Speed came free, but Graeme Purvis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hythe FC's goalkeeper Sean Thorn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonny Speed sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Ringwood booed when Hythe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Barnett didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jonny Speed, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 81 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Graeme Purvis was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Jonny Speed notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Ringwood's Graeme Purvis. Graeme Purvis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 86 played minutes Ringwood got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Lynam. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rich Hume in the 89th minute of play forced Ringwood's goalkeeper Graeme Purvis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Ringwood's goal looked a bit too open when Jonny Speed came free, but Graeme Purvis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jonny Speed's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Graeme Purvis was relentless in the 98th minute of the game. Hythe FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
