Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Paddy Blain got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Paddy Blain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 5 minutes, Victor Webb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wanborough United and the Ilford AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th minute, one of Wanborough United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Wanborough United. Ilford AFC's Alf Bodsworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dion Courtney in the 12th minute of play. Ben Blackwood charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ben Blackwood the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ben Blackwood hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Reg Bass, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rory Garner-Currie struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Alf Bodsworth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wanborough United. Piers Ansell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Larry Eyre having to make a save. Piers Ansell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Larry Eyre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ilford AFC's zone, Dion Courtney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alf Bodsworth came out of the goal and Dion Courtney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alf Bodsworth came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Wanborough United's Rory Garner-Currie. But to his dismay, Rory Garner-Currie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Dion Courtney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dion Courtney made a kick off. Piers Ansell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th match minute, Wanborough United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradley Sugden to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ilford AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! Alf Bodsworth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reg Bass went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score.
