Walter Hewitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damion Goacher in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Oscar Cook reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Allan Duggan. The goal made the score 1-1. Lawrence Pitts hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Keith Bancroft struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Allan Duggan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Finchley AFC. If Oscar Cook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by John Dixon during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, John Dixon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute of the match Tyler Cotterill sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Allan Duggan skillfully saved the ball. Walter Hewitt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. When Terry Webster came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the North Manchester FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Terry Webster couldn't finish the play. Steven Linford charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steven Linford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Finchley AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steven Linford to maneuver through the defense. North Manchester FC's Damion Goacher got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 75th minute of the match Steven Linford completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. When the match was over North Manchester FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Finchley AFC throughout the match.
