Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gordon Sherwood got the match started through his kick off. Gus Rothwell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johnny Atkinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 15th minute, Gus Rothwell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Johnny Atkinson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vince Lemerond was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Skipton City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jay Ferdinand was slow to take the kick. During this time TravelForDummies.co.uk's players had a chance to rest. Jay Ferdinand made a great header on TravelForDummies.co.uk's corner, it was just that Skipton City's Vince Lemerond managed to reach the ball for a save. Johnny Atkinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Vince Lemerond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tommy Furlong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Pilgrim having to interfere. If Gus Rothwell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Johnny Atkinson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TravelForDummies.co.uk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 35th minute Johnny Atkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Lemerond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Skipton City booed when TravelForDummies.co.uk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frankie Notley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vince Lemerond didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johnny Atkinson went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Gus Rothwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Vince Lemerond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Skipton City defense, Johnny Atkinson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vince Lemerond. The Skipton City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vince Lemerond should have stopped the shot. After the first half TravelForDummies.co.uk were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Johnny Atkinson to strike the kick off in the second half. Norman Wadham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Vince Lemerond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Skipton City's goalkeeper Vince Lemerond had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gus Rothwell. Vince Lemerond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnny Atkinson in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Skipton City getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Des Beadle hit a great ball. After having played for 60 minutes, Gus Rothwell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TravelForDummies.co.uk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gus Rothwell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tommy Furlong scored 1-4 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Scott Pilgrim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in TravelForDummies.co.uk's zone, Martyn Cullen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scott Pilgrim came out of the goal and Martyn Cullen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute Johnny Atkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Lemerond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vince Lemerond stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johnny Atkinson's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After 79 played minutes Skipton City got a freekick which was hit by Gordon Sherwood. In the 81st match minute, Skipton City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gordon Sherwood to maneuver through the defense. Johnny Atkinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gordon Sherwood came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Skipton City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gordon Sherwood couldn't finish the play. Jasper Philpott hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute Norman Wadham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Lemerond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gus Rothwell kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 95thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Skipton City's keeper Vince Lemerond was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Frankie Notley charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frankie Notley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes TravelForDummies.co.uk got a freekick which was hit by Frankie Notley. TravelForDummies.co.uk played a much better game than Skipton City and deserved their victory. The Skipton City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
