An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregory Simms in the 31st minute of play forced Uxbridge's goalkeeper Gary Mallaby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grant Pool received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gary Mallaby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Uxbridge's zone, Gregory Simms stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gary Mallaby came out of the goal and Gregory Simms tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gary Mallaby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregory Simms, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 47th minute, Jim Bibby ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kristopher Shephard was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jim Bibby stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Malcolm West charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Malcolm West the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rdth minute of the game Grant Pool who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uxbridge's Gary Mallaby was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Todd Billington who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Kristopher Shephard when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 81 minutes into the game, Pocklington AFC's Gregory Simms nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gary Mallaby made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. When Gregory Simms came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Pocklington AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregory Simms couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Pocklington AFC's Kristopher Shephard got control of the ball when Todd Billington tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pocklington AFC's Kristopher Shephard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Bibby in the 89th minute of play.
