Robbie Walls charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robbie Walls the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Robbie Walls hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 19 minutes, Felix Platt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acton FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Platt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Acton FC's Felix Platt got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Lance Warner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Robbie Walls got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Felix Platt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 38 minutes, Lance Warner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Purbrook's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lance Warner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Purbrook's Laurence Notley got control of the ball when Felix Platt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 55th minute, Felix Platt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laurence Notley was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Lance Warner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paddy Maxwell having to interfere. If Lance Warner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Robbie Walls came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Purbrook fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robbie Walls couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Will Hales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Acton FC's zone, Lance Warner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paddy Maxwell came out of the goal and Lance Warner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Felix Platt came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Acton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Platt couldn't finish the play. Acton FC's Felix Platt got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
