Spectators: 6690 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 0) With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wally Lynch in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nathanial Hardcastle saved Great Ayton` FC from getting behind. Will Ashby's late challenge caught a Ashton Under Hill City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Will Ashby helped the player get up and apologised. Will Ashby hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Alex Akins made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Will Ashby sent off a good shot on target. Patrick Hanson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Nathanial Hardcastle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute Rod Cookson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Akins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Gettins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Alex Akins made a huge save. In the 25th match minute, Ashton Under Hill City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Piers Bell to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Wally Lynch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Great Ayton` FC's Rod Cookson got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patrick Hanson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adam Gettins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Alex Akins made a huge save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wally Lynch to strike the kick off in the second half. Nathanial Hardcastle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Hanson, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute, Will Ashby left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Great Ayton` FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Patrick Hanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrick Hanson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Patrick Hanson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashton Under Hill City's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Hanson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nathanial Hardcastle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nathanial Hardcastle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Hanson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ashton Under Hill City's Ollie Holroyd was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nathanial Hardcastle in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Cookson in the 73rd minute of play forced Ashton Under Hill City's goalkeeper Alex Akins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ashton Under Hill City! After 96 played minutes Ashton Under Hill City got a freekick which was hit by Piers Bell. Rod Cookson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Alex Akins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Great Ayton` FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
