The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Blair Sutton made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Chaz Featherson sent off a good shot on target. Chaz Featherson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Blair Sutton made a huge save. Gary Miller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cleobury Mortimer's Gav Harkness played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary Miller in the 32nd minute of play. Kevin Granger struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Gav Harkness didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United. Kevin Granger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cleobury Mortimer's zone, Gary Miller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gav Harkness came out of the goal and Gary Miller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute Gary Miller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gav Harkness saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gary Miller came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Manchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gary Miller couldn't finish the play. Kevin Granger might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gav Harkness. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kevin Granger ran back to his position shaking his head. Gary Miller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gary Miller made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Sid Whittington put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Blair Sutton. Blair Sutton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Whittington in the 75th minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Gary Miller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gary Miller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Chaz Featherson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Blair Sutton was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Manchester United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cleobury Mortimer.
